16It was bound to happen I suppose... Having been an avid AD&D player for so many years, and having been exposed to all kinds of different runes and languages I finally broke. See it all started when I acquired an application call Fontmonger. Dethek, or dwarven runes from the Forgotten Realms was my first conquest. After several hundred downloads and many letters, my work appeared to be accepted and well liked. This made me feel quite pleased. I thank all who wrote to say hi, or ask after other font offerings. But I digress... One of the many drawbacks to playing around with runes is that one tends to read them as american first, before trying to decipher them. One day, something snapped, and a large bell rang in my head, followed by the voice you know, that voice you use to think with, and are hearing now as you read this... It said - I quote - "What if I create a font that *looks* like runes, but can actually be read as american?" Frankly I was stunned by the sheer simplicity of the idea. Anyway, it only took about three hours to complete "Common Tongue". I hope you like it.
